I’m Abdishakur Yusuf. I build software, teach, write, and spend a lot of time thinking about how technology can be more useful to the people around me.
A lot of my work lives somewhere between technology and people: building practical products, helping students become more confident, sharing opportunities, and occasionally trying to turn a rough idea into something real.
I’m still learning, still experimenting, and still figuring out what kind of work I can become genuinely good at. This website is where I document some of that journey.
What I do
Building. Teaching. Moving ideas forward.
Sometimes that means building software. Sometimes it means explaining a difficult idea, running a session, writing something useful, or helping a team turn a rough thought into something practical.
What I care about
- Technology that solves real local problems.
- Teaching that helps people become confident on their own.
- Clear communication that makes difficult things easier to understand.
- Opportunities that reach people who might otherwise never hear about them.

Writing
I used to write on Substack. I’ll now be cross-posting some of those thoughts here, alongside anything new I manage to write before I forget it.

Swimming
I swim—and I can now officially say I graduated from a swimming academy, which sounds much more serious than it felt while I was trying not to swallow pool water.

Gym
I paused the gym for a while to focus on mastering swimming. I spent some proper time in the pool, graduated, and have now made my way back to the gym.

Coffee
Not technically a hobby, but it appears far too often in my life to be left out.

Community and tech activities
Meetups, hackathons, ambassador programs, conversations about technology, and helping aspiring programmers find their way—I enjoy being around communities where people are building and learning together.

Hiking and camping
Whenever life allows it, I enjoy getting away from screens, hiking, camping, and spending some time somewhere quieter.

Man, I love talking about startups and business ideas—how they begin, why some work, why others fail, and how a simple thought can slowly become something useful.
I enjoy discussing early ideas, questioning them, improving them, and thinking about how they might become real products or businesses.
